The Month of Love & Bonding

(the tale of love)

During the Month of June, this creation story can be found on flyers being distributed throughout the city. It cannot be found in the Shrine of Curiosity, but everyone in town seems to know of it anyway. The lofty tale goes as follows:

"This world has been reborn hundreds of times.

Created in the space between two Kami, one of Creation and one of Destruction, the world we live in was the difference between them. But the two Kami were opposites and enemies by design. Whenever they fought, they would destroy the world.

Over and over, the world was destroyed and reborn. Subtly changing with each rebirth and building up karma with each death. Until finally, the Kami of Creation sealed her enemy away in another dimension. The Kami of Destruction became unable to destroy the world and was left to fester in their dark intentions.

Many eras passed.

Then the darkness of humans swung too far and allowed that destructive Kami to escape. They clouded the world in darkness, stealing all faith by creating an era where suffering reigned supreme.

The Kami of Creation was thrown into the other realm, where she was unable to stop the slow destruction of the world.

Until something new was born in the space between Life and Death.

The Kami of Love was born in the dark Era of Forgetting, when all hopes seemed lost. With her light, the border between spirits and humans was broken to pieces. She banished the Kami of Destruction once and for all. With their opposite gone forever, the Kami of Creation also chose annihilation. She left the world in Love's hands.

Thus starting the new Era, guided by Love's light."
